Australian Design Rules – Harmonisation

Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule – Harmonisation) 2012 is is made under the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 and facilitates the automatic acceptance of new amendments to the ECE regulations that Australia has applied as a contracting party to the 1958 Agreement.

This standard does not increase the stringency of any of the ADRs as earlier versions of the regulations will still be accepted as detailed in the ‘alternative standards’ sections of the ADRs.
